    With each new season, it is fun to incorporate chic little updates into your footwear and accessory collections. It keeps you looking current and will instantly update classic pieces you already have in your wardrobe. I thought this edit would give you some ideas on what new trends to wear this fall. . 

    The yellow crossbody bag is an easy piece that will make any outfit interesting.  You will be surprised how versatile the yellow color is…you can wear it with more colors than you may think.  The loafer trend continues into fall and this pretty pair is decorated with stylish studs. A leopard printed scarf will instantly add some glamour to any ensemble.

    Statement earrings are a must and this gorgeous pair looks beautiful when paired with a cozy sweater and denim or a cocktail dress. This fun lucite cuff is sure to be a conversation piece and I like the smoke and rose mirror lens on these tortoise sunglasses.

    If you need a chic black flat, try these suede ones…I like the pointy toe and subtle studs. This fabulous necklace adds serious drama at an affordable price point.  The print on these d’Orsay flats is polished and versatile…I love the small touches of color.  Don’t hesitate to wear this antique white hobo through the fall season…white is totally appropriate after Labor Day.

    Pearls

    Classic and glamorous, pearls are having a major moment this season.  Not only in all types of jewelry but on shoes and bags as well…pearls are everywhere.  This bold bracelet in grey and white pearls from Kenneth Jay Lane is a favorite of mine.  Available at www.neimanmarcus.com.

    Drop Earrings

    It has been hard to miss the drop earring trend since these earrings come in a variety of materials and colors. I like this crystal pair because they are shimmery and can dress up a casual outfit or add the finishing touch to a dressy ensemble. Available at www.saks.com.

    Chokers

    A throwback to the 90’s…chokers made a comeback this year.  My favorite option is this chic and delicate Jules Smith chain choker, which is plated in 14 karat gold and has a 3 inch extender to ensure a comfortable fit. Available at www.nordstrom.com.  

     

    Bold Bracelets

    You probably have a few statement necklaces but this season the statement bracelet is the new must-have item. This ornate gold bracelet by Kendra Scott is the perfect choice and available at www.nordstrom.com. 

     

    Statement Earrings

    These ABS by Allen Schwartz chandelier earrings will add drama to any outfit…casual or dressy. The warm toned jewels are beautiful for fall color palettes and will make you feel gorgeous. Available at www.saks.com.

    Necklace Layering Ideas

    Feeling the urge to update your everyday jewelry look?  I receive a number of inquiries about the necklaces that I am wearing in almost all of my photos. I wear some combination of these necklaces almost every day and feel they add a feminine touch to my daily style.  

    Stylish and Fashionable Necklace

    To start, I wear the Tiny Pavé V and Solid Pavé Disc Necklaces from Adina Reyter. While delicate in appearance, they are high quality enough for daily wear since they are made from 14 karat gold with tiny diamonds.  Then, I add a third for some novelty…and I mix it up based on whatever I am wearing. A heart, horn, gemstone…whatever I am feeling. Do not hesitate to mix metals…gold, silver and rose gold all complement each other. Be sure to make them different lengths so you can see all of them. You can do this easily by adding a necklace extender. 

    You can also add a longer style pendant necklace to the ensemble..sometimes I add a pendant when I am wearing my two “basics’ but sometimes I add it on top of three necklaces…I like how mixing the metals, shapes and lengths creates a unique look. 

    The great part about recreating this look is that there are plenty of options at all price points…I have inexpensive styles that are just as pretty.     Long ago, I used to tell people to have a sparkling day.  It seemed more fun than a “great”, “good” or “nice” day.  I am not sure why or when I stopped wishing people a sparkling day but somewhere along the way, I stopped signing emails that way and sign off in a standard way. However, this spring, that is precisely what you will be doing from day to night…sparkling. Glitter is a major trend this season and not just in the traditional evening items…I have seen it in the fabric of leggings, dresses, sandals, water bottles, jewelry…it is EVERYWHERE. Think of glitter pieces like you would a print of pattern, use them sparingly…a touch here and there and never more than one piece in an ensemble.  

    I opted to style this glitter story in gold pieces for day wear but there are an abundance of sparkly items for evening….black, gunmetal and other fun colors but I feel the gold is the freshest version for this season.

    Glitter is also a key beauty trend this spring, in eyeshadows, lip gloss, nail polish and body dust.  Again, use sparingly, but there are pretty products that will make you shimmer and glow.

    SPRING 2017 ACCESSORY REPORT 

    SWWhile there still may be a bit of winter left in most places, Spring has arrived in stores and online. Our Spring 2017 Accessory Report covers our favorite trends for the season. 

    FLORAL FOOTWEAR 

    As in clothing, floral prints and details are prominent in footwear this spring…to keep it from feeling contrived, pair with clean looks-like a white buttoned up shirt and soft pants…avoid floral detailed shoes with floral printed clothing…it will be too much of a good thing. These See by Chloe slides are a relaxed and romantic option perfect for weekend wear. 

     SLIDES

    Chic and comfortable, slides are the must-have silhouette of the season.  Flats and platforms alike, slides are everywhere. My favorite pair are these metallic gold Prada slides with bright pink soles. 

    KITTEN HEELS 

    Whenever I am wearing kitten heels, I feel as if I am Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  These sexy little heels look elegant when worn with slim pants or skirts.  The black and nude Valentino pair featured above give a little edge while the Christian Louboutin pair are incredibly versatile and can be worn to the office or with evening ensembles. 

    STATEMENT SUNNIES

    This season, it is not just about size with your sunglasses…yes, oversized sunglasses are the trend but so are colors and embellishments…I love the black dramatic Krewe style above.  Go big and bold to make a statement this season. 

    MISMATCHED EARRINGS 

    Don’t like being matchy-matchy? This jewelry trend is for you.  Make friends look twice when you sport a pair of mismatched earrings this Spring. 

    BACKPACKS

    Finally! Function is first…backpacks are having their moment again and your back will thank you.  While tempting to pack full of items, stay stylish by not overloading them. This taupe Rebecca Minkhoff is a fashionable everyday option. 

    ALL THAT GLITTERS

    Expect more to come on this Spring 2017 trend…glitter is everywhere this year.  This fun Furla bag looks fresh when worn with distressed denim and a chic jacket…a perfect happy hour ensemble.
