Summer is coming to a close and I am trying to soak up the sweetness of these remaining days. There is always something special about summer…the long days, vacations, out of town friends and family…things just feel more relaxed. While the weather in Miami is warm year round, there is still a seasonality…things that indicate seasons are changing and as I think about what to wear now through early Fall, this mustard yellow color is one of my favorite trends. I am seeing it in clothing, accessories, jewelry. These styles below should give you some inspiration on how to wear this fresh color.

Last week’s posts were all about fitness wear and this week we are dressing up with a winning color combination. One of my first jobs as a buyer was working for White House Black Market…we wore black and white every day and, since then, I have enjoyed the color combination because it is easy to coordinate, always looks polished and the styles tend to be timeless. Even with a closet, packed with black and white clothing, I always like to add a few pieces each season to incorporate the latest details.

Mid Year Fitness Check-In

It hit me last week that it is almost June. JUNE…by the end, it will be the halfway point of 2018. I am not sure where the time goes but it is going. Which prompted me to check the goals I set at the beginning of the year to measure my progress.

I am making improvements in all of the areas I wanted…except self care. Somehow, I am still putting myself lower on the list of priorities than I should. Consistent workouts are still a goal…as are weekly spa nights and inspirational reading. That being said, I am determined to figure it out…and what better way to give yourself some motivation than new workout clothes?!

When I look at my closet (which is organized by color), there are three colors that have significantly more styles in them than the others…two are not really colors since they are black and white but the one color I cannot seem to stop buying is blush. Blush has become a staple…it is elegant, chic and versatile. It is also flattering on my, and almost all, skin tones. Here are a few items in my current blush crush.

After a fun and festive holiday season, I am in the mood to get back to basics…which means lots of salads, new goals and intentions and also fresh wardrobe updates. This fall, you will see gorgeous vintage prints as a trend…from high end designers to affordable fashion, these prints are present in most collections. They work well with denim, suede, leather fabrications.

Gesine from Mille Fleurs was kind enough to let my photographer, Eric Dunhill and I stop in and take some photographs amidst her lovely flowers. Mille Fleurs is a charming flower shop located in the 55th Street Station in Miami.
