The Knit Blazer

Jackets are one of the quickest and easiest ways to create a polished appearance. You can dress them up if you want to be dressier or wear them with denim for a more casual vibe. This soft knit blazer in the almost-navy color is perfect for Spring. You can wear this jacket with a number of colors…black, white and a variety of bright and pastel colors. It would also would look great over a dress. With jackets, I expect a bit more from them and want them to last so I tend to spend a bit more than I do on tops or dresses. A New Party Top

For those impromptu moments when your husband wants to grab a cocktail or your girlfriend wants to have dinner, it is nice to have a pretty top to throw on. This beautiful silk top from Joie is an excellent choice that will transition between the winter and spring seasons. I styled it with white denim for this shot but another fun look would be to wear with distressed denim…the contrast between the dressy and casual fabrics will create a fashion forward appearance. A Red Dress

Red is a classic color that you can wear any time of year but is especially important this season with desert hues being a key trend. After a fun and festive holiday season, I am in the mood to get back to basics…which means lots of salads, new goals and intentions and also fresh wardrobe updates. While glitz and glamour is perfect for the holidays…clean, crisp styles are appealing to me right now. White shirts are a staple of mine and I have quite a few in my wardrobe. Awhile back, I had a conversation with a friend discussing how I would like to get a pair of leather leggings. Living in Florida, it is tough to really justify purchasing a pair since I would wear them fairly infrequently. However, I love how leather looks paired with lace, cozy sweaters and other soft pieces. She said she did not feel comfortable wearing leather because she believed it would look too edgy or super trendy and I convinced her that you can create non-intimidating fashion forward looks with all kind of leather pieces. The conversation inspired me to create these three leather and lace looks that are feminine and flattering for almost everyone.

When it comes to bags, I like to invest in classic and versatile styles for everyday wear. Taupe, black and more basic shades and silhouettes. However, when it comes to fashion bags…I do not hesitate to take risks with color, prints and styling. Little Black Dresses (LBD’s) are a staple in my and most of our wardrobes. They are timeless, elegant and flattering. If you are unsure of what to wear…there is a strong chance you may reach for a LBD. I have a number of LBD’s because there are a variety of occasions on which I may need one and I like to be prepared for any event. I have decided there are four primary categories that will ensure you are prepared for almost any occasion. They are listed below in order from the most to the least dressy.

It should come as no surprise that I love to shop. Always have…and since I work in the fashion industry and understand fabric, fit and quality…I tend to like some of the more expensive designers. Don’t get me wrong…I shop anywhere and everywhere because the most important thing is creating your own personal style. Fortunately, there are a ton of brands (Zara, H & M, Aritzia) that offer great style at low price points so there is no need to buy expensive items all of the time.
