Last week’s posts were all about fitness wear and this week we are dressing up with a winning color combination. One of my first jobs as a buyer was working for White House Black Market…we wore black and white every day and, since then, I have enjoyed the color combination because it is easy to coordinate, always looks polished and the styles tend to be timeless. Even with a closet, packed with black and white clothing, I always like to add a few pieces each season to incorporate the latest details.

Polka dots have been on the style horizon for the past couple of seasons…I covered this trend last year and continue to see more styles when I am shopping. One thing I have noticed this season is that the size of the polka dots is increasing which keeps this trend fresh. These pretty polka dot styles will keep your spring style spot on! This polka dot skirt is cute and casual. I chose to dress it down with a casual tee and sneakers but you could also dress it up with a nice heel and the coordinating top. I rarely think of polka dots being chic but this outfit is incredibly sophisticated. The pleated pants make your legs look miles long and the top is a nice feminine compliment. Black and white is a color combination that is classy, easy to style yet can be incredibly fashion forward. It is relevant season after season and this Spring is no different. Here are a few pieces that range from everyday casual to over-the-top fashion forward in this staple color combination.

They’re called classics for a reason…timeless, polished and always relevant. Black and white is a chic and easy color combination to wear because you usually have a plethora of shoes and accessories to complement.
