Fall 2017 Color Crush: Midnight Blue

As referenced in yesterday’s Fresh Fall Nail Colors post, I am loving anything that is a rich midnight blue this fall.  I like using it as a neutral as it works with a variety of colors, prints and patterns. My favorite way to wear it is to pair it with black or head-to-toe. I hope these three looks inspire your midnight blue shopping selections.

Velvet Crush

Velvet is one of the major fashion trends for Fall 2017. It is available in every silhouette imaginable…tops, jackets, coats, dresses, pants, shoes and handbags…you get the idea…everthing. This luxurious fabric is perfect for cooler temperatures and the rich texture gives colors an added level of depth.  I always like to wear velvet in darker colors because it creates a deep, beautiful sheen. While velvet could be tough for warmer climates, I am excited to share some of my favorite pieces that will work well in a variety of climates.

Fall is here friends, which means it is time to break out all things pumpkin flavored, start wearing boots and all of your fall fashion favorites. At this point, the weather is still transitioning in many places and so I wanted to highlight some of my favorite dresses that you can wear for a wide range of fall occasions.

Fall Floral Prints

After spring and summer seasons filled with feminine floral prints, I am excited to report floral prints continue this fall season in fresh color ways and styles. I love the soft, romantic vibe florals create…they make me feel so pretty while wearing them. However, to keep avoid looking overly sweet, wear with denim, leather, suede and faux fur. The texture will create a nice contrast. Here are some of my top selections for fall floral prints.

Fall Vintage Prints

This fall, you will see gorgeous vintage prints as a trend…from high end designers to affordable fashion, these prints are present in most collections. They work well with denim, suede, leather fabrications.

Gesine from Mille Fleurs was kind enough to let my photographer, Eric Dunhill and I stop in and take some photographs amidst her lovely flowers. Mille Fleurs is a charming flower shop located in the 55th Street Station in Miami. I have received absolutely divine floral arrangements from Mille Fleurs and highly recommend Gesine for any occasion.

As the days start to become a bit shorter, kids go back to school and vacations slow down…it starts to feel like fall is around the corner. Green is a key color this fall…from bright kelly green to deep forest and shades of olive, green is everywhere and the options are endless. Polka dots are a trend that I usually do not gravitate towards because they can feel dated. However, they have been a major trend for 2017 and I keep seeing styles that I want to wear.  There are some gorgeous silhouettes…romantic, sophisticated, feminine and I am featuring my favorites below.  Keep reading for ideas on how to keep your style spot on.

The Little Black Dress Edit 

Little Black Dresses (LBD’s) are a staple in my and most of our wardrobes.  They are timeless, elegant and flattering. If you are unsure of what to wear…there is a strong chance you may reach for a LBD.  I have a number of LBD’s because there are a variety of occasions on which I may need one and I like to be prepared for any event.   I have decided there are four primary categories that will ensure you are prepared for almost any occasion. They are listed below in order from the most to the least dressy.

A CHIC COCKTAIL DRESS

Cinq a Sept has a gorgeous collection of apparel and this Ellette Bustier Midi Dress is a perfect example. The scoop neck bustier design is feminine and flattering while the midi length is super trendy this season.
