Lovely Lavender Looks 

Purple has been my favorite color since I have been young…I always prefer purple over pink but it is not always easy to find. Fortunately, this season, lavender has been everywhere and I have enjoyed shopping these styles this Spring. I love how this hue looks in both casual and dressy looks.

Inspired by the 2019 Pantone Color of the Year

Every year, Pantone selects a color of the year which provides inspirations to all industries…fashion, beauty, home decor and many more. This year, they selected Living Coral, which is a deep pinky coral.  What I like about coral is that it reminds me of summer. I usually style it with a vacation vibe…mixing it with natural accessories and footwear like straw, bamboo, jute. I usually wear turquoise jewelry because it gives it a nice pop.  

I found this pretty dress at Revolve which is an easy dress to throw on for Spring and Summer occasions.  What I like about coral is it’s versatility. You can style it with white for a crisp look or army green and khaki for something more neutral. It works well with denim and so one coral item can be worn many ways.  I have selected a few fun pieces below.

Soft Skirts for Spring 

Since shorts are not my thing…(we will discuss more around that another time 🙂 )…I am often challenged on what to wear during the weekend. Denim is always an option, but sometimes too warm for Miami and while I like cute workout clothes, I usually do not wear them outside the gym. I am a bit old fashioned in that way and typically like to be more “dressed” when I go out. Which is why soft and casual skirts are an excellent option. 

This soft skirt is made from a blend of cotton and spandex. It is stretchy, comfortable and just stylish enough that I feel pulled together for running errands.  Both skirt and top available at anthropologie.com.    

This skirt is dressier and not quite right for errands but certainly perfect for lingering over lunch and a glass of wine. The soft leopard print makes it easy to dress up or down. Crisp and Clean Neutrals 

I blinked and the first month of 2019 has passed. Sometimes I just want everything to slow down. All I have wanted to do this month is organize, plan and think about goals and strategies for the upcoming year. I have more to do and figure out before the month ends. 

That mood has carried over into my style…after all of the festivities, sparkle and shine from the holidays, I have been craving is crisp and clean neutrals. Elegant, understated pieces have just the right vibe and I am sharing some of my favorites below.

4 Ways to Style a Black Jacket 

One of the most essential pieces in my wardrobe is a black blazer. It is stylish, polished and versatile.  As a former buyer who has worked for a number of retail companies, I know that the making jackets is more expensive than many other categories. The construction, fit and fabrics that going to making a jacket are more costly than many other clothing items. It is important to select a jacket of good quality because a jacket made of poor quality will show it. In this post, I selected a black velvet blazer from L’Agence and am showing multiple ways to wear it.

If you do not have a black blazer in your closet, think about investing in one. It is an item that you will wear for many years and can make it look different depending on how you style it. It is an excellent item to travel with because of the versatility. When selecting a black jacket, be sure to select a silhouette is flattering to your frame and made of a fabric you can mix and match with existing items in your closet.

New Year, New Workout Wear 

The holidays have passed and whether you have New Year’s intentions around fitness or weight loss, it feels good to get back to clean eating and regular workouts. New workout clothing always gives me extra inspiration to get to the gym (no judgement, please) and I found some cute new looks that should do the trick! 

This soft top (you can wear the twist in front or back) and pair of reversible leggings feel so good that you won’t want to take them off when your workout is done. I like workout shoes with a lot of cushion. The last few pairs I have had are from Adidas and I have been very happy with them. I have worn this white sweatshirt on many more occasions than working out but its great to throw on after a workout when I tend to get cold. These pink leggings are the perfect color and have lovely details. Top available at bloomingdales.com and leggings are now on sale at revolve.com. 

Lavender is my favourite color so I could not resist this hooded sweatshirt and coordinating color block legging. The soft pretty colors feel fresh as we move into the new year. Available at nordstrom.com.

Pearls…Our Favorite Embellishment of the Season

The holidays are here which means it’s time to start wearing your most festive looks! Velvet, silk, lace and all things sparkly…the more opulent the better.  When it comes to embellishments, pearls are our favorite this season. Timeless, chic and elegant they add glamour to every outfit.
